Meryl glanced at the neon bar clock as she rushed past it and sighed. Only nine-thirty and she was already longing for home. The job was decent enough for now, and the customers were friendly and respectful to her, especially after she'd bent a tray or two over their heads. They still flirted with her, but at a distance. Meryl didn't mind that, though she never responded to their overtures.
